Smart materials, such as piezoelectric ceramics, shape memory alloys and magnetostrictive alloys, are rapidly becoming part of today\u2019s technological panorama, allowing to design actuation systems with smaller sizes, so much so that we have come to talk about Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems. But much of their potential is yet to be implemented!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong><u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.spin.cnr.it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNR-SPIN<\/a><\/u><\/strong>, together with the Universities of Genoa and Osaka, is organizing a workshop on microactuators in the city of Genoa, at the University\u2019s Physics Department headquarters. The aim of this event, which is part of the Italian-Japanese project \u201cSolid State Actuators for Micro \/ Nanorobotics\u201d, sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is sharing the experience of public institutions and private companies in the field of micro-implementation and related materials.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3116 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/comestero.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/phi-Drive_microactuators_genova.jpg\" alt=\"phi Drive_microactuators_genova\" width=\"269\" height=\"180\" \/>Phi Drive was invited to contribute to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.phidrive.eu\/en\/prodotti-phidrive-attuatori-rotativi-ad-alta-precisione\/cor_ps-posizionatore-lineare-nanometrico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>nano-positioning<\/u><\/a><\/strong> techniques based on piezo technology.
